Nokia Lumia 900 coming end of February?

Swisscom employee spills the beans as a new render appears online

The Nokia Lumia 900 is widely expected to launch, but so far, Nokia has been very tight lipped about it. Just as well that's not the case with others connected to the high-end Windows Phone 7 handset.

After the head of Nokia France hinted at its existence, we heard rumours that it will actually launch with the Tango upgrade of Windows Phone 7. If that's not enough confirmation for you, an employee of Swisscom has used Twitter to effectively give a launch date. Replying to a customer question about phone availability, he stated 'end of Feb' for the Nokia Lumia 900. No 'maybe' either, a very firm date and one that does tally with previous rumours of early 2012.

Not long after that information broke, something else relating to the Lumia 900 appeared – a new render of the smartphone. Picked up by the WMPoweruser site, it's not a million miles away from the highly-rated Nokia Lumia 800 if the image is for real, but with the larger 4.3-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display.

Other features previously leaked include a 1.4GHz processor, eight-megapixel camera and, as we mentioned earlier, Windows Phone Tango for the operating system. If the shelf date is February, we would expect the official unveil of the Nokia Lumia 900 to be in January at the latest. We'll have full details of that as and when it breaks.
