Taiwanese pop star caught holding one, but is it real?
Steve Jobs said there was no 7-inch iPad in the works, so how has a mini iPad been snapped online?
The honest answer is that no one really knows. The image you see is of Jimmy Lin, a Taiwanese pop star. he has in his hands a full-sized iPad and a miniature version. The camera never lies, so it looks like a 7-inch iPad exists. If only it was that simple.
According to Pocket Lint, the 36-year-old singer, actor and professional racing car driver might well be holding a knock off device. After all, it wouldn't be the first time that an Apple device had been copied and miniaturising shouldn't be a huge job for a tech company with the ability to replicate the tablet.
It's probably more likely than Steve Jobs suddenly deciding that the 7-inch size was the way to go. After all, when discussing the rival Samsung Galaxy Tab's 7-inch size, he said: 'This size isn't sufficient to create great tablet apps...10-inches is the minimum tablet size...7-inch tablets are tweeners; too big to compete against a smartphone, and too small to compete with the iPad'.
But while that image exists, there's always a chance of it being reality. Saying that, the clever money is on it being a fake.
