Nokia: almost 4 million N8s sold30 December 2010
Company translates high pre-order volumes into sales
According to the research outfit, Indres, Nokia has had a successful time of it with its N8 mobile phone and has already edged towards the 4 million sales mark in just a single quarter. The actual figure is unknown at present but sits between 3.5 and 4 million units.
Before the Nokia N8 mobile phone was released during October, Nokia was positively bullish about its proposed sales. The company was even heard to say that it has, "...received the highest amount of consumer pre-orders." That positivity has now translated into actual sales figures and impressive figures they are too with a total of 3.5 to 4 million phones being registered by Nokia.
Of course, this figure is good for a new phone, more established handsets are outselling the N8 by a fair margain. The Apple iPhone 4, for example, sold 14 million units over the same period.
