London, Paris, New York and Rome apps for the iPhone and iPod touch
Lost or bored in the city? Well, if that city happens to be London, Paris, New York or Rome, there's now an app for that, courtesy of the Rough Guides City Guides.
Now available for the iPhone and iPod touch, these are the company's first city destination apps, designed to keep you on track with all the city essentials and iconic sights, as well as being good for finding something interesting off the beaten track. An interesting little restaurant or cafe maybe? There's even a lucky dip feature if you can't decide where to start (or you're just too lazy to plan).
Key features include city centre mapping and map integration with your iPhone, GPS co-ordinates for all museums, hotels, restaurants and shops, 'tagging' of favourite places, so they're easy to find later, an option to share details of favourite finds with friends via email and an image gallery that brings together all the images featured on the guide.
If you fancy a weekend (or longer) away, the Rough Guides' London, Paris, New York and Rome apps are available now for £1.79 from the App Store. More convenient than a map or a paperback, that's for sure.
