Cut price rival to Galaxy S II for £30 per month
Seems a strange idea to launch a handset to rival one of your own best-selling smartphones, but that does seem to be the case with the Samsung Galaxy S Plus, which is now available on the Vodafone network.
Yes, this is indeed a cut-price option to the hugely popular Samsung Galaxy S II, offering some of the features for only part of the price. According to Crave, that means a single-core 1.4GHz processor and a four-inch touch-screen (super LCD screen, as opposed to the more detailed Super AMOLED screen found on the S II).
But on the plus side, you do get the same Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and home screen, so the same live widgets and access to all the same apps in the Android Market. There's also a five-megapixel camera with auto-focus, as well as an HD video player and recorder, along with HSDPA 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity and a rather slim and stylish design that looks anything but cut-price.
It's available to order now, but at a price that's perhaps not as budget as you might think. £30 per month in fact, if you want the phone free.
