Gmail for Android 2.3.2 adds priority inbox

Don't worry, you do not need Android 2.3 for the latest version of Gmail for Android, but Gmail for Android 2.3.2 does require Android 2.2 to run.

It's an update of the September Gmail upgrade (if that makes sense), headed up by the addition of Google's priority inbox. Yes, you can ignore all those everyday emails on your phone and concentrate on the important stuff via the new priority inbox view. You can archive and delete conversations or mark them as unimportant from there, as well as changing a conversation’s importance using the menu. There's even an option to set up alerts that notify you of an 'important' message coming in.

Composing messages is also improved, adopting a few features related to composing messages from the desktop version of Gmail. For example, it's easier to switch between replying to the sender to replying to all or forwarding. If you moved to Gmail from another webmail provider and want to continue to send email from that address, you can also now send from any address you’ve configured in the desktop version of Gmail. Finally, inline message responses are also now included in the mobile app.

If you've got Android 2.2 running, you can grab it now.
