Nokia 603 handset launches

Affordable Belle handset preloaded with key apps

It can't be long now before Nokia shifts its attention to Windows. But with no official launch or shelf date as yet for the next generation smartphones (although a launch could be just a weeks away), Nokia still has time for some more Symbian action, including the Nokia 603.

If you buy into Symbian as a platform, it doesn't look a bad mid-range handset at all. Symbian Belle is the specific OS, with the 603 packing a 1GHz processor and a 3.5-inch ClearBlack, scratch-resistant display. There's also 15-megapixel camera with digital zoom and 720p HD video shooting, Nokia Maps to aid with navigation and NFC built-in.

It also comes with pre-installed apps too, including Angry Birds<

em>, Fruit Ninja<

em>, Shazam, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, while that OS offers up to six customisable home screens and dynamic live widgets, so you can add a bit of personalisation to your new handset.

Plenty of colours to choose from too, as you can see from the image here. Specifically, we're talking black, white, fuchsia, green, yellow and blue, with all selling SIM-free for €200<

span>. That works out at around £180.
