APP WATCH: CoPilot unveils free Christmas update16 December 2010

As the song goes many of us will shortly be "driving home for Christmas" which is why we thought we'd bring you this festive cheer. CoPilot Live v8 customers can now download a nifty little upgrade that should enable them to get home to the turkey faster and safer. The free update will not only provide the most accurate street maps and latest points of interest, but customers will be able to navigate direct to a contact whose details are stored in their phone's address book. As with previous CoPilot models, maps are stored locally on the phone or memory card, so there's no downloading process, a nightmare if you find yourself lost and without reception or a Wi-Fi signal.
The free update is available now to both Windows Mobile and Android customers, though for the "navigate to contacts" facility at least Android 2.2 Froyo is needed. The update for the iPhone is expected imminently.
