Phones 4u confirms Samsung Galaxy Nexus pricing20 October 2011
£46 per month to get the handset for free
Yesterday, we mentioned that the Three network and Vodafone would be selling the newly-launched Samsung Galaxy Nexus. But we didn't have a clue on the price. Today we have.
According to Recombu, the Phones 4u store has been the first to announce pricing details for the Android Ice Cream Sandwich handset, although details are sketchy at best. Saying that, the headline price is available to us now.
Go to Phones 4u and you can have a 'free' Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone for £46 per month over two years. Yes, you read that right. A serious amount of money. Alternatively, you can secure one for £41 per month of you pay £29.95 upfront for the handset. As for the date and details of those details, both still to be confirmed. But you can pre-order the phone there right now. Not sure we would order a phone without knowing the network we would be using, but each to their own. Give them a call or drop into a store, you might well find out more if you are serious about buying.
Adding to Three and Vodafone's confirmation of sale yesterday was O2 later in the day, but like the other two networks, wasn't forthcoming with detail. We expect both Orange and T-Mobile to be stocking the handset in the UK too. We don't expect any of them to deviate too much from the Phones 4u pricing.
We do know all about the phone though, which, as well as showcasing the latest version of the Android OS, also offers up a 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, a hefty 4.65-inch screen with 720p resolution and a five-megapixel camera with auto-focus. Want to know more? See our hands-on with the handset.
