Samsung Galaxy Ace gets Hugo Boss edition

Affordable Android smartphone gets a designer makeover

If you happen to be a fan of designer suits in various shades of black and grey, we have some great news for you - the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Ace Hugo Boss edition.

That's right. Rather than makeover one of the premium Samsung handsets, Hugo Boss has made over something a little further down the line. Ok, the Ace isn't a budget handset. But it's not the Samsung Galaxy S II either. Shrewd move by Samsung though, as the collaboration does make the Ace instantly more appealing to fashionistas.

The difference is essentially in the looks and the branding. You can't miss the large Hugo Boss name above the screen, while the exterior, a mix of matte black and a houndstooth pattern, certainly has the 'look' you would expect from the fashion house. Beyind the casing, you'll find Hugo Boss wallpapers and some pre-loaded music tracks, nothing more.

Of course, you've still got the Ace, which got a three-star rating off us at review, described as a 'decent and appealing phone at a good price.' It will be running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread, packing a 3.5-inch screen, an 800 MHz ARM 11 processor, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and have all your connectivity essentials. You can see it in action here.

As for getting one, the Samsung Galaxy Ace Hugo Boss edition should be available SIM-free through Hugo Boss stores. GSM Arena has seen in for sale on a French website for 280 Euros, so expect a price of £200 - £250 when it lands in the UK.
