Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 officially now a series

10.1-inch model and 7-inch model run Ice Cream Sandwich

Hot on the heels of its last pre-MWC announcement, Samsung has also circulated a press release about its new 'tablet series'.

That's the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), which we reported on previously, and its 10.1-inch sibling, which is basically a rehash of the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 with a very standard 1GHz dual-core processor, the same 1280x800 PLS display, a three-meg camera with matching VGA camera (contrary to the original Tab 10.1's two-meg job), plus a choice of 16GB or 32GB internal memory - not expandable by microSD.

Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) packs a similar spec list with a downsized screen - which doesn't exactly sound the tablet that's going to blow the iPad 2 out of the water either. But if its delayed Galaxy S III launch is to go by, maybe Sammy's sensational tab launch is still to come.
