iPhone 5 now launching late October01 August 2011
More delays for next-gen iPhone
Summer, September and now October - Apple's next-gen iPhone 5 is now tipped to launch in late October with September likely for a launch event based on its music service.
According to All Things D, the official launch day for the iPhone 5 will take place sometime in the second half of October. A September event - which Apple often holds - will instead focus on its music services. And this year, that's likely to be its iCloud and iTunes Match services, both part of the iOS 5 upgrade which will launch with the iPhone 5.
Though Apple has done the full reveal on iOS 5 - and developers now have access to the beta - hardware details of the iPhone 5 have been scarce - as rumour goes, it will pack a faster A5 dual-core processor as seen on the iPad 2 and a higher-spec eight-megapixel camera.
