HTC faces German sales ban

Sales injunction won by IPCom in 2009 means HTC's devices could be removed from German stores

As we reported on Thursday, HTC has had better weeks.

After slashing revenue forecasts by 20%, the company saw its share price fall through the floor and now it looks likely that the beleaguered manufacturer will be the latest courtroom casualty.

A patent lawsuit and sales injunction won by German company IPCom in 2009 means that HTC's devices could be removed from German stores in the crucial run up to Christmas.Until now, HTC had been objecting to the court ruling but it's speculated that dropping the appeal could have triggered the downgrading of the companies revenue forecasts.

One positive bit of news from HTC this week is that the company's chief financial officer Winston Yung made assurances to customers that the corporation wasn't 'about to do a Nokia'. He told Reuters<

em> that there will be more flagship products from HTC next year, particularly taking on the higher-end devices.

We've already been impressed with the Titan and Radar this autumn, so hopefully there's more to come 2012.
