Japanese manufacturer set to launch Lumix camera phones
Japanese giant Panasonic looks set to make a return to the UK smartphone market for the first time since 2006 with the launch of its Lumix camera phones.
The Nikkei Business Daily<
em> reports that Panasonic is in talks with 'a major telecoms firm' with a view to launching the range in spring 2012. The corporation aim to target Europe before rolling out into the North American and Asian markets with their Android-based range.
With a forecast of 15 million units to be sold by 2015 – that's three times Panasonic's current Japanese sales – so they're clearly expecting great things from the overseas market.
